Crich Photo line-ups: Leeds Trams – 2019

We have a more recent line-up on the Crich depot fan for you today as we take a look at a five tram line-up featuring trams from Leeds.

In 2019 the main enthusiast event at Crich was a two day affair to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the acquisition of the site which would become the home of the National Tramway Museum. On the first day of the event, 21st September 2019, the main line-up on the depot fan featured trams from Leeds. Five were included: horse car 107, electric trams 180, 345 and 399 and Tower Wagon TW2.

The four passenger trams included in the line-up are seen here side-by-side. Horse car 107 is on the left and then going along the line we have 399, 345 and 180.

And then we see the full five tram line-up with the Tower Wagon on the far left hand side. (Both Photographs by Gareth Prior)

  1. Nigel Pennick says:

So the 1953 single-decker 602 built for the cancelled tram subway scheme was not exhibited. It shows what might have been one of a large fleet if the anti-tram authorities had not had their way.
