Spot the reindeer in Nottingham!

You may have noticed that its beginning to look a lot like Christmas! And Nottingham Express Transit are getting into the festive spirit with, amongst other activities, the naming of nine trams after Rudolph and the other reindeer.

First unveiled on Monday 5th December the nine trams will be running around the NET network until early January. They have received faces, noses and antlers with a name scroll on the side of the tram to show which reindeer is which.

As well as the reindeer trams, NET have also launched a competition to find 12 numbered robins on board the trams and at stops. Anyone using the tram has been challenged to find all 12, take pictures of them and share then on NET’s social media channels using the #SpotTheRobins hashtag and tagging @NETtram on Twitter and and Instagram. The winner of the contest will receive a free one-month tram pass.

And Father Christmas himself will be taking the tram on 22nd December. Along with his elf helper Father Christmas will be getting on board the special reindeer trams and handing out presents to children.

Alison Sweeney, Head of Marketing at NET, said: “The tram is the easiest way to enjoy all that Nottingham has to offer this December, whether it is Christmas shopping, Winter Wonderland or many of the great events happening across the city. “As well as offering convenient, affordable Christmas travel, we also wanted to bring some festive fun to the tram network, and hope that the reindeer, robins and Santa jumping on board will give customers something to smile about as they travel around the City.”
