Crich Photo line-ups: Horse Trams – 2009

One of the popular themes for line-ups on the depot fan has been horse trams and today we take a look at one of those in 2009. It included four horse cars posed for photos (before a fifth horse car could be thrown into the mix!)

As with the previous instalment of this series this particular line-up occurred on Enthusiasts Day 2009 which as on 5th July 2009. Included in the line-up was Cardiff 21 which had only arrived at Crich on loan earlier in the year from the National Museum of Wales. It was joined by long-term residents Chesterfield 8, Oporto 9 and Sheffield 15.

Cardiff 21 is on the far left of this line-up as the only double deck horse car then at Crich. Next to 21 is Oporto 9 with Sheffield 15 (for a long-time the operational horse tram at Crich) and then Chesterfield 8. (Photograph by Hazel Quarmby)

Taken from the other end of the depot fan the four trams are still lined up for us in this shot. This time Chesterfield 8 is closest to the camera with Cardiff 21 getting the attention on the far side. 21 would eventually leave Crich in 2021. (Photograph by Gareth Prior)
