In Pictures: More trams go blue on the West Midlands Metro

There haven’t been any new or returning trams into service for a while on the West Midlands Metro but one change which has been seen is more receiving replacement blue vinyls. Since our last update 21 has returned to service in full blue livery whilst 34 has also received the vinyls although hasn’t yet been noted out in service.

As you’ll recall when the Urbos3 trams have received the bodyside panel repairs they have been returning to service with plain white sections with the importance of having them vinyled not high on the list of priorities. But in recent weeks there has been a concerted effort to reapply vinyls and that has been the focus at the depot again in the past few days.

The now full blue again 21 is seen here at Wednesbury Great Western Street. Its running a peak time extra as its only running as far as Wednesbury Parkway and will then retire to depot. (Photograph by Andy Walters, 1st December 2022)
