Fares increased on Nottingham Express Transit

Single and “short-hop” tickets on Nottingham Express Transit have increased. Usually when fares go up there’s a lead in after an official press release but in this case it appears that the fares have just gone up without much pre-warning, leading to even more complaints than usual about the changes in fares.

New fares on Nottingham Express Transit are now as follows:

  • Short-hop £1.50 (was £1.00)
  • Adult Single £2.80 (was £2.70)
  • Student Single £2.20 (was £2.10)
  • Under 19 Single £1.60 (was £1.50)

Day tickets and Season Tickets have not changed at this time.

In a statement released to the Nottingham Evening Post a spokesperson from Tramlink Nottingham said: “Like everyone, we are facing significant energy and wider cost increases across our operations. We are doing everything we can to absorb that impact and have not made any changes to the vast majority of our ticket types, including all season tickets. While we have increased the price of the short hop single ticket, this is the first time there has been a price increase on that ticket type for over 6 years. We know that times are tough, but we believe that the tram is still the most affordable and sustainable way to travel around Nottingham.”
