“Picture in Time” keeps with the Blackpool theme this week.
Tower – tick. Illuminations – tick. Balloon Car – tick. It doesn’t get much more Blackpool than this! Its October 1978 and very much in Illuminations season and Balloon 708 is getting ready to head off north with an Illumination Tour on the centre track – although it doesn’t appear that many, if any, passengers have yet to board the tram. The road is also busy with bumper to bumper traffic – a very regular sight at this time.
Balloon 708 is now to be found at the Trolleybus Museum at Sandtfoft having been moved there in late 2023 where it will become a Playtram.
