Around the World in Trams: Plauen 48

This edition of “Around the World in Trams” is back to the Oldtimer Museum in Rugen, Germany to take a look at another of the tram exhibits housed there.

In the below photo we see Plauen 48, a 1926 built tram which ran on the 1,000mm gauge tramway on the tramway in Saxony, Germany until withdrawal in 1973. Following withdrawal it was stored out of public view before it was transferred to the museum in Prora in 1998. It has remained there since and it is now one of a number of trams which are on public display there.
