LRSSB release three year business plan

The Light Rail Safety and Standards Board have released a new three year business plan following the confirmation of £3.3 million worth of funding from the Department for Transport. This gives the organisation – who are responsible for driving light rail safety across the country – a clear vision for the future.

The LRSSB’s Business Plan sets out how they aim  to deliver its core objective “Prevent Incidents, Reduce Harm”. Amongst seven key strategic aims set out are enhanced stakeholder engagement, the further development of an integrated risk management framework and the upgrading of a comprehensive incident reporting database.

Carl Williams, LRSSB Chief Executive, said: “Now that the funding package, worth £3.3 million over three years, is in place we are in a position to accelerate our ambitious delivery programme. This is clearly set out in the new business plan that builds on the organisation’s many successes since it was established in 2019, and reflects recommendations made earlier this year in a report from the Office of Rail and Road on our work to date.”
