In Pictures: 21 into service in the West Midlands

No sooner did we bring you pictures of 21 (and 18) on test than it was cleared for service! It returned to passenger action on Wednesday 15th June, becoming the second Urbos3 to have run in service since the resumption of services on the network on 9th June.

With 21 entering service it now means that 10 (of 29) trams are available for use and as we saw yesterday 18 is also being testing which should hopefully mean that number is up to 11 fairly soon.

For now the service continues to run from Wolverhampton St George’s to Bull Street only with the timetable seeing a 12-15 minute frequency. As more trams are cleared for service this service will be improved with trams finally being able to get back to Library in due course (and maybe then Edgbaston Village?)

We’re gong to have to get used to seeing trams with large section of blue vinyls missing. In order to expediate the return to service of some of the Urbos3s the niceties of adding vinyls will have to wait. 21 on its first day back out with passengers on board.
