Later trams in Edinburgh to help get back to city centre after concerts

Edinburgh Trams will be running later services on select dates during June to help people returning from gigs at the Royal Highland Centre to return to Edinburgh City Centre. Trams will run until 2345 – around an hour later than the usual timetable.

The gigs are due to take place in the Big Top at the Royal Highland Centre starting from 11th June with acts including Fatboy Slim, 50 Cent, Richard Ashcroft, James and Madness. With the venue only a 25 minute walk from Ingliston Park and Ride Edinburgh Trams is well placed to transport people both to and from the gigs.

Lea Harrison, Managing Director at Edinburgh Trams, said: “With an exciting line-up of fantastic acts to suit all musical tastes, this series of concerts looks set to prove a huge hit. Clearly, roads around the venue will be very busy, and we want to provide a convenient alternative to travelling by car by running later trams following the final encores. These will run between the nearby Ingliston Park & Ride stop and all stops to the city centre until around 11.45pm. We are delighted to be able to play an integral part in delivering an integrated transport plan that will help get people to and from these major events with the minimum of fuss.”
