In Pictures: The other side of Edinburgh 269

We recently featured photos of one side of a new advert for Edinburgh Trams 269 but its one of those adverts which differs on each side so now its time to look at the other side! The above window adverts are the same on both sides but it’s the full height adverts which are different.

The first side we saw included full height ads for Majestic Tour and 3 Bridges Tour whereas this side includes adverts for City Sightseeing and the Edinburgh Tour (the former Guide Friday tour). All these tours are operated by Lothian Buses and this advert is a partnership between Edinburgh’s two biggest public transport operators.

Gaynor Marshall, Communications Director at Lothian Buses, said: “We’re thrilled to unveil our very own Edinburgh Bus Tours tram and we’re thankful to the team at Edinburgh Trams for helping us to make this happen.  We’re hopeful that the tram carrying our brand will catch the eye of the returning international tourists to the city. With a tour to suit everyone and kids go free on all of our city centre tours, there will be plenty of family fun this summer.”

The advert was applied at the end of May and is expected to remain in place throughout the summer.

Familiar in cities across the UK, City Sightseeing is run on a franchise basis with Lothian running it in Edinburgh. This full height section advertises it.

The final tour advertised on the tram is Edinburgh Tour. (All Photographs by Roy Calderwood, 1st June 2022)
