More rail replacement works in Sheffield over Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend

Both the Blue and Yellow routes of Stagecoach Supertram will see an amended service running throughout the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend as rail replacement works take place along Infirmary Road. These works mean there will no trams from Shalesmoor to either Malin Bridge or Middlewood.

A Saturday service will be operating on the complete network on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd June with trams to and from Halfway on the Blue route running only to Shalesmoor whilst those on the Yellow route from Meadowhall will also terminate at Shalesmoor. The short-running will be continue to be in place for the rest of the weekend – Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June – as well. Both the Purple route and Tram-Train service will run as normal over all four days of the weekend.

The work on Infirmary Road will see the track being replaced on the inbound line between Albert Terrace Road, Bedford Street and Montgomery Terrace Road. This is located from around the Infirmary Road stop and back towards the city centre.

Works will start from 2300 on Wednesday 1st June and continue through until 0500 on Monday 6th June. Local road closures and diversions will be in place throughout this period.

Supertram tickets will be valid on local bus services to allow passengers to complete their journeys with no dedicated replacement buses being operated.
