Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours started their 2022 programme of tours on Saturday 8th January with both Coastal and Promenade Tours now running on selected dates throughout 2022. In this latest “Out and About” we see the tram in use for the first day of tours.
And that tram needs no introduction as it was Balloon 700. Repainted over summer 2021 into a new coat of wartime green and cream fleet livery – replacing its purple and white modern livery – the tram finally entered service during December 2021 and was used on a couple of occasions before it was allocated to Promenade and Coastal Tours on 8th January 2021. Although keeping all of its B fleet modifications 700 certainly looks the heritage part now and is seen here waiting at a damp North Pier and Tower heritage stop before embarking on its Coastal Tour to Fleetwood.
