In Pictures: Reindeer lose in Edinburgh!

As we reported a few days ago, Edinburgh Trams are getting into the Christmas spirit by naming a few of their trams after reindeer whilst also giving them some antlers at the same time! This is a return to what used to happen before you know what happened and as in 2019 it would seem to be two reindeer a tram with a different name carried at each end.

Edinburgh Trams have promised that there will be eight reindeer name (Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen) on the trams although so far only 270 has been spotted with the name Blitzen at one end and Dasher at the other. Rudolph and his red nose can be found on the mock-up tram at Edinburgh Airport.

The Blitzen name and antlers on one end of 270 are seen here as the tram stands at York Place.

Another view of 270 and its name at York Place.

The Dasher name is carried on the other end and side of 270. This is the tram at St Andrew Square as it heads to the Airport. (All Photographs by Roy Calderwood, 10th December 2021)
