The latest punctuality figures released by the Tyne and Wear Metro on posters put up at stations across the network have shown that punctuality has again fallen – both in comparison with the previous four weeks and the same period in 2020.
On this poster it reveals that 83% of trains arrived on time (that’s three minutes later or within 30 seconds earlier than scheduled) in the period 19th September to 16th October. This is a fall from 88% in the previous period with the same four weeks in 2020.
Whilst the poster doesn’t give reasons for the delays anymore, information displays at the stations have been using the usual autumnal reason of “low rail adhesion” so it could be that caused delays to the service during this period.
