Trams confirmed to return at Beamish 4th September

After 533 days when there have been no trams in public service at Beamish, Saturday 4th September will be a momentous day as a limited tram service will resume once more! Its going to be different to how it was before but trams are back at Beamish!

Trams will be running weekends only during September and will operate a horseshoe service from the Town (east end close to the Bakery) to Foulbridge (by the tram depot). The reintroduction of trams has come following maintenance and inspection of the track and driver refreshers which will now allow this limited operation to commence.

The recommendation for anyone travelling on the trams remains that face coverings are worn on board and that all visitors respect other’s personal space when both waiting for the trams and on the vehicles.

Currently to visit Beamish you have to pre-book timeslot tickets which can be done through their website at https://beamish.digitickets.co.uk/category/35499.

Details of tram services beyond the end of September are to follow and in the meantime the vintage buses will continue to run on a daily basis.
