Lockdown Walks: Stagecoach Supertram 103

Sheffield is again the location for this latest edition of “Lockdown Walks”.

Usually on the Supertram network destination displays on the trams are fairly standard with the usual Middlewood, Meadowhall, Malin Bridge, Halfway, Herdings Park, Catherdral and Rotherham Parkgate regularly seen (except for late evening terminating services). But this changes when there are engineering works with services being terminated short and the big advantage of modern electronic displays is that you are pretty free to show any location. Over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend of 29th to 31st May this was shown to good effect with services on the Blue and Yellow route having to be turned short at Shalesmoor.

And it is Shalesmoor which we see on the display of 103 as it departs Cathedral, although whether it’s a Blue or a Yellow route service isn’t shown. (Photograph by Stuart Cooke, 31st May 2021)
