Lockdown Walks: Stagecoach Supertram 103

In this latest “Lockdown Walks” we are off out in Sheffield again as we take a look at a tram which at the time was just back in service after a spell out of service.

As most UK tram systems have been running a reduced service for prolonged periods since the start of pandemic there have been a number of trams which haven’t been seen in service for some time. In Sheffield this has seen the three lowest numbered trams all having spells out of action – 101, 102 and 103. One of these, 103, returned to service on 11th April after having repairs at Nunnery Depot.

This image shows 103 as it passes the entrance to what is now the Tramways Medical Centre on Holme Lane but was once Holme Lane tram depot. It is working a Blue route service to Halfway. (Photograph by Stuart Cooke, 11th April 2021)
