We are again on the way to Croydon Tramlink for this edition of “Picture in Time” as we feature an image of trackwork underway on the system a few years after opening.
We are helped in the below image by the date stamped in the bottom right hand corner which tells us that the photo was taken on 28th March 2005, which was Easter Monday in that year and with bank holidays, school holidays and the like often seeing engineering works on the Tramlink system it probably holds that is what is happening here. The location of this shot is Gravel Hill on the route out to New Addington where the right hand track is under attention with this large piece of equipment being used in the work.
