In Pictures: More from the Birmingham Westside extension

Work is continuing on the construction of the second phase of the Birmingham Westside extension between Library and Hagley Road in Edgbaston, due to open later in 2021. In this latest pictorial article we take a look at the latest progress on the building of this latest extension to the West Midlands Metro network. Dan Noon with the photos.

Work continues on the tramstops as seen here along Broad Street. Beyond the fencing you can see the platform shelters being erected with some of the final surfacing to follow.

All track has now been laid along Broad Street with a continuous line now in place from Centenary Square to Five Ways Island. This is Broad Street where work continues on the final touches to the streetscape.

This is the scene at Five Ways where the track and final road surface are in place. Plenty of maintenance vehicles are also seen. The Five Ways underpass can be seen in the distance.
