New fares for West Midlands Metro from 2nd January 2021

West Midlands Metro have announced new fares will be introduced on the network as from 2nd January 2021 – with the news only been released a little over a week before it happens. The overall increase is said to be less than 1% but there are some fares which look significantly higher from this date and have been made following a “review of the fares structure”.

The most popular day tickets will see an increase with an Off Peak adult day ticket going up from £4.40 to £4.80 (£3.50 for children) or £4.70 if using the Swift card. This allows unlimited travel on the network after 0930 and does still remain excellent value, although not quite as excellent as it was before!

The Peak Day adult ticket will now be £6.30 (up from £6.00) or £6.20 with Swift. The Child equivalent will be £4.60 (£4.50 with Swift).

The new Adult fares are as follows:

Off peak day – £4.80

Peak day – £6.30

Off peak family – £5.50

Peak family – £9.00

3 day – £15.00

4 day – £19.20

1 week – £23.00

4 week – £81.00

1 month – £75.00
