Nottingham Express Transit 211 is now running with above window adverts for Emmanuel House Support Centre – a Nottingham homeless charity – after NET donated advertising space to the charity who have suffered a £70,000 shortfall in their annual income.
As well as NET, Nottingham City Transport and Adverta (NET’s print supplier) have donated £25,000 worth of advertising space which not only includes the ads on 211 but also posters at 15 tram stops.
The campaign uses the slogan “You Can Make the Difference” and highlights the charity’s winter fundraising appeal. It has been designed by local graphic designed Elroy the Artist.
Chris Williams, who oversees social responsibility for NET, said: “During these difficult times due to Covid-19, it’s more important than ever to support the most vulnerable in the community, and we’re committed to doing all we can to help. The tram network serves many key locations around the city, and we’re sure the colourful posters and eye-catching tram will provide a real boost for the charity’s winter appeal.”
Denis Tully, CEO of Emmanuel House Support Centre, said: “he advertising will help us to raise awareness about the work we do to support those who are homeless, rough sleeping, in crisis or at risk of homelessness. We can’t wait to see the artwork all around the city and hope that the positive message will resonate with the people of Nottingham. Our winter appeal is our most important fundraising event – we need it to sustain the running of the charity all year round. As a result of the pandemic, Emmanuel House could be at risk of a £70,000 shortfall in our core income this year. Our sources of income and community fundraising have been drastically reduced, so donations like these are so gratefully received as they will help us to reach even more supporters.”
The charity are asking anyone who sees the tram out and about to share their photos on social media by either tagging Emmanuel House on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and using #youcanmakethedifference.
