Trams &: Llandudno & Colwyn Bay Electric Railway 7 & Arriva bus

We take another look at Llandudno & Colwyn Bay Electric Railway 7 with a bus for company in this edition of “Trams &”.

As we’ve already featured 7 in this series we don’t need to go into much detail on the tram, which as we’ve seen before was restored into a Llandudno & Colwyn Bay tram in time to celebrate the centenary of the opening of the line which was in 2007. It has since been a fixture at many events since, including one trip to the Wirral Bus & Tram Show.

In this view, taken on 1st August 2009, we are in Llandudno and sees 7 being pursued by an Arriva open top bus towards the West Shore terminus. This was a common sight up until the closure of the tramway in March 1956, although at that time the buses were all green Crossville vehicles!
