Wirral Bus & Tram Show 2020 cancelled

It has been announced that the Wirral Bus & Tram Show – due to take place on Sunday 4th October 2020 – has been cancelled as a result of the continued Coronavirus pandemic. Whilst it may seem a very early cancellation, it takes six months to plan and with the uncertainty of when even basic social distancing may still be required the sensible decision has been made to cancel the event for the first time in its history.

The Wirral Bus & Tram Show is the largest of its type in the area with not only the trams of the Transport Museum – usually a four tram service in operated, with a selection of trams seen in service during the day plus others on display – but also hundreds of buses and other vintage vehicles. It also enjoys a large number of trade stalls and heritage bus trips around the local area.

Whilst there is bound to be disappointment at the cancellation of this event it is an easily understandable one with the event relying on a large number of volunteers, many of whom fall into the over 70 category. It may not be happening in 2020 but with any luck it will be back bigger and better than ever before in 2021 by which time everyone is likely to be very keen to attend transport events once more with the pandemic but a distant memory (we hope!).
