In Preview: Crich heads back to the 1940s again

It is always one of best attended events of the year at Crich and the second World War II Home Front weekend of 2019 will be taking place on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th August with the usual mix of an intensive tram service and re-enactors on site set to make it another weekend not to be missed!

This time around there will not only be a replica Spitfire on display but also a Messerschmitt. Alongside these planes there will be historic wartime road and military vehicles not only on display but also on the move providing those all important unique photographic opportunities alongside the heritage trams.

There will also be re-enactors as the museum heads back to the 1940s with entertainment also on offer with Jayne Darling, Miss Marina Mee, Kev Mack, Lula May and Johnny Victory all performing songs from the 1940s at times during the two days.

The World War II Home Front events are the only in the special events calendar where repeat admission tickets are not valid so standard admission prices apply with the museum opening at 1000 each day. First trams are at 1030 and last admission is 1600.

  1. Nigel Pennick says:

I hope the band there doesn’t play ‘The Dambusters’ March’ considering the events not so far away.
