Around the World in Trams: Budapest 2035

Today we feature one of the more modern trams to be found in Budapest – a Siemens Combino, numbered 2035.

Siemens delivered 40 of these Combino Supra 6 section articulated trams in 2006/7 and when they were delivered they were, for a time, the longest trams in the world at 54 metres. They are used on routes 4 and 6, these routes are amongst the busiest in the world and carry more passengers than any of the Budapest metro lines. Trams on these lines run as frequently as every two minutes.

This photo shows 2035 on route 6 at Ferenc Korut on 17th May 2012.
