In Preview: World War II Home Front event at Crich

Crich will once again be going back to the 1940s on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th August with the second World War II themed event although hopefully this time around there won’t be any snow on hand to cause the curtailment of the weekend!

The previous Home Front event over the Easter weekend only managed to take place on one day with heavy snowfall forcing the cancellation of the second day but with it being August the snow shouldn’t be an issue this time around! Keeping with the standard pattern of World War II Home Front events the weekend will see trams of the period running alongside other period vehicles and re-eneactors replacting life in 1940s Britain.

There will also be entertainers on hand including Jayne Darling, Miss Marina Mae, Madeline Brown, Kev Mac and Peter Wayre performing songs from the 1940s.

Anyone attending the event dressed in 1940s or World War II Home Front uniform will be offered reduced admission (free re-entry tickets aren’t valid for this event).

The museum will be open from 1000 on both days with a tram service starting from 1030. Last admission will be at 1600.
