In Pictures: Progress continues at Rotherham Central

The slow progress in construction work for the Tram-Train service to Rotherham Parkgate is continuing ahead of the start of public services sometime in the latter part of this year. In this latest pictorial update we take a look at the current state of affairs at Rotherham Central where the new low level platforms are being constructed (slowly!).

Testing of the Tram-Trains on the line is also continuing with regular overnight runs of the Stadler Citylink vehicles.

The view looking from the current mainline high level platform down towards the new platform.

Another look down the slope.

Looking across to the other side and the other platform which is in much the same state.

And again.

A more general view showing both platforms. As so often in these photos there is evidence that work has been taking place but nothing is actually happening at the time its recorded.
