The third and final Volks Electric Railway train to have been overhauled by Alan Keef Ltd has returned to Brighton and now awaits final work to be completed and a return to service. 10 was delivered on Monday 30th April and joins the previously overhauled 4 and 6 back in situ on the south coast.
All three trains have been comprehensively overhauled to a high standard thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund backed Saving Volks project which has also seen a new exhibition centre opened amongst other improvements. 4 entered service at the start of the season but has spent some time out of service with a fault. 6 is still awaiting final commissioning and has now been joined by 10.
It is hoped that by the time the main summer season starts there will be 6 trains in service including 9 which has enjoyed an overhaul by volunteers of the Volks Electric Railway Association.
