Landslip causes MER service changes

The Isle of Man has been suffering from heavy rain recently and unfortunately this has caused a landslip which is affecting services on the Manx Electric Railway between Baldrine and Laxey. These changes were introduced from the start of service on Tuesday 16th October and are expected to remain in operation until further notice.

All northbound trams from Douglas are terminating at Baldrine from where a  replacement bus service is operating through to Laxey. The MER service resumes at Laxey  and runs through to Ramsey as normal.

For southbound services from Ramsey they run as normal through to Laxey from where passengers can again board the shuttle bus. The bus runs all the way through to Douglas but passengers can alight at Baldromma where the MER service resumes.

The 2012 operating season on the Manx Electric Railway is now in its last month with the last trams due to operate on Sunday 4th November. It will then take its now traditional winter break before resuming operations from 9th March 2013.
