A new year means new opportunities for improvement works on Manchester Metrolink and whilst big projects have yet to announced (which will inevitably come later in the year) the first line closures have been, as has some work which shouldn’t cause any disruption to services.
Sunday 8th February
From the start of service until 1000 no trams will run through Victoria for track repair works.
In this period the following services will run:

- East Didsbury to Exchange Square
- Ashton-under-Lyne to Eccles via MediaCityUK
- Altrincham to Etihad Campus
- The Trafford Centre to Deansgate-Castlefield
A normal Sunday service will then run.
- A bus replacement service will run between Victoria and Piccadilly until 1100.
Sunday 8th March

Sunday 25th January to Friday 8th May
Overnight overhead line equipment replacement will be taking place every Sunday night to Thursday night in this period on the Eccles line to ensure an increase in resilience to the equipment, mitigate operational risks and reduce the frequency of emergency intervention works.
No tram services are expected to be impacted by the works which will take place between 0000 and 0430.
Monday 19th January to Friday 27th March
Whitefield Metrolink Tunnel landscaping and reinstatement work will take place. This will take place during daytime hours but the nature of the work should mean no tram service impact.
