In Pictures: Blackpool Standard 48 overhaul continues

As we reported a couple of weeks ago Blackpool Standard 48 is currently being overhauled at the Oregon Electric Railway Museum with a view to the tram being returned to service. Stephen Cobb recently visited the museum and provides us with these photos of the current progress on 48.

48 is currently at the back of the car barn where its overhaul work is being progressed. In this view the obvious attention has been turned towards the roof as evidenced by the ladder leaning against the side of the tram.

Some internal work will also be required before the tram can be returned to service. This is the lower saloon showing its 2 + longitudinal seating. A number of the longitudinal cushions are sitting on top of the transverse seating.

The upper saloon where work is in evidence as preparations are made for 48 to return to service. Last time we heard it was hoped it would be back in service within six weeks. (All Photographs by Stephen Cobb)
