In Pictures: More from the Sheffield to Rotherham tram train pilot

We head back to South Yorkshire in this pictorial update as we take a look at the recent progress on construction work for the Sheffield to Rotherham tram train pilot project – due to start operation sometime in 2018.

Work taking place on Bridge Street, Rotherham on Saturday 27th May with the railway line closed to passenger trains to allow for the replacement of the bridge.

A workman takes a break on the top of bridge.

Masts are in place between Rotherham and Sheffield but they are still awaiting the stringing of overhead.

Signals are in place on parts of the line. This is Parkgate where it has been bagged out of use.

Another new signal is in place at Meadowhall South on the current Supertram line. This is also bagged over whilst not in use. (Photographs x6 by Glyn Hill)
