DLR Custom House station to close for Crossrail work

No Docklands Light Railway services will stop at Custom House from Friday 3rd February until December to allow for major construction works in connection with Crossrail to take place. Normal DLR services will run through the station but passengers will be unable to board or alight.

The work will include taking down the existing station canopies and the installation of a new mezzanine deck above the DLR platforms, as well as two additional staircases. Capacity at the station will be increased by 50% and will allow for passengers to interchange easily with the new Elizabeth Line – as Crossrail will be known – services from December 2018.

The scale of the work necessitates Custom House station to be closed and passengers are being advised to use either Royal Victoria or Prince Regent instead.
