The Altrincham line of Manchester Metrolink suffered more problems on Monday 28th
May because of an overhead line fault. It was reported in the Manchester Evening News that the overhead line snapped at Old Trafford and shattered the driver’s windscreen
with an eyewitness giving his account. Transport for Greater Manchester neither confirmed nor denied this version of events. Whilst the problem was fixed services to Altrincham were suspended with passengers advised they could use their tickets on the 263 bus route. As a result of this there were delays on the Altrincham line for around two hours until a full service was able to resume.
