Midland Metro T69 book – can you help?

Before Christmas we ran an appeal for information and photos for inclusion in Andrew Coward’s latest book – a tribute to the Midland Metro T69s, which are due for withdrawal within the next few months. Following on from this Andrew is now trying to find out roughly when 01, 02 and 03 were withdrawn from service.

01 – There is a photo of the tram in a stripped condition from March 2007 wearing the same external adverts it carried as when removed from Wednesbury last year so it certainly hasn’t run in the intervening period. There are also photos of it running in 2004 and 2006 but if anyone can narrow it down a bit more it would be appreciated.

02 – This appears to be the least photographed member of the fleet and it has been stored for a number of years but was still working in 2009. Again if anyone can narrow down when it last worked it would be appreciated.

03 – A more recent withdrawee than the other two but if anyone can help with a date for withdrawal Andrew would be very grateful.

If anyone can assist with information on any of these three trams please email Andrew Coward at the following email address: AndrewmcowardATaol.com (replace AT with @)

  1. Derek Lewis says:

    Hi,

I only have a couple of my photos of 03 taken on 16 July 2000 and two more recent ones of 11 ‘Theresa Stuart’ (2014). If you would like, please email me.

Most of my tram photos are those, old and new, in Potsdam, Berlin, Dresden, Lisbon, Antwerp, Amsterdam, De Panne and Woltersdorf (By Berlin)

    Best wishes,

    Derek
