NET Citadis to be named after Nurse of the Year

It has been announced that one of Nottingham Express Transit’s new Citadis trams will be named after the Nottingham Nurse of the Year ahead of its entry into service later this year. Nottingham Express Transit were one of the sponsors of the Nurse of the Year awards and one of the prizes for the winner is the chance to see their name on the side of a tram.

Children’s orthopaedic nurse specialist Julie Porter was named as Nottingham Nurse of the Year at a lavish ceremony held last week where the announcement was made about the naming of a tram in her honour.

Jamie Swift, Marketing Manager at NET, said: “The whole scheme has been a huge success and our involvement has encouraged even more nominations and votes. We have been delighted to support the fantastic contribution our nurses and midwives make to our community and the tram name prize will be a constant reminder of their work over the year ahead. We’d like to congratulate Julie and the other award winners on their success. One of our new trams will be going into service over the next couple of months or so and before it does, Julie will visit our Depot and officially unveil her name on the side of the vehicle.”
