It’s back (for one week only for now and will return again towards the end of March). It is our look at just when and where you can go and take a ride on a heritage tram in the UK. With the February Half Term holidays for the schools taking place over the next week a number of tramways traditionally open their doors for the first time in the year and on top of that we have the winter stalwarts continuing operation. This list only includes those tramways which are open during the week so if it isn’t here you won’t be able to get a ride on a tram!
Beamish: The Living Museum of the North
Open daily from 15th-23rd February (1000-1600) with a tram service in operation around the Museum circuit.
The February Half Term will see Home Farm move into the Second World War era with a number of events due to take place to commemorate this.
From Monday 24th February until Wednesday 26th March 2014 the Museum reverts to winter opening (1000-1600) and is closed on all Mondays and Fridays with other weekdays seeing certain sections closed to visitors. The summer season will then commence on Thursday 27th March with daily opening between 1000 and 1700 each day until November.
