Another medium/long term absentee on Manchester Metrolink has returned to service with 3127 back in use after approximately eight months. The tram was noted back in service on 3rd February 2026, although its not known if this was its first day back.
3127 had last run on 28th May 2025 when it was involved in a RTC close to Clayton Hall. This saw it receive damage to its cab but this wasn’t a simple job which could be completed straight away and so its taken just over eight months for it to be fixed and re-commissioned for service.
On 3rd February 2026 it was allocated to service on the Manchester Airport to Victoria service.
Whilst 3127 is back out, there do remain a number of long-term absentees. None more so than 3005 which was last seen in service in February 2020, whilst others include 3053 (which was sent to Kilmarnock for repairs on 20th July 2025), 3065 and 3091.
