Discounted Metro tickets for the Birmingham Light Festival 2026

Anyone travelling to the free Birmingham Light Festival, taking place at various locations across the city, will be able to make a trip on the West Midlands Metro at a discounted rate as part of the company’s sponsorship of the event.

Running between Thursday 12th and Sunday 15th February, the Birmingham Light Festival sees special light installations illuminating the city between 1800 and 2200 each evening.

To mark their sponsorship, Metro will offer up to 15% off zone 1-4 and zone 1 day tickets throughout the event. All you have to do is go onto the Birmingham Light Festival website at https://www.birminghamlightfestival.co.uk/offers-exclusive-travel-offer and download the discount codes.

Michael Reading-Skilton, Metro’s Head of Commercial, said: “We’re delighted to support this spectacular display and encourage people to travel sustainably as they explore the city. When the lights switch on, our trams provide a quick and accessible way to move between locations and enjoy everything the festival has to offer over the school break.”

With the event taking place at various locations, those attending are advised to use the Metro to get to Edgbaston Village, which is then an 11 minute walk away from Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Other locations are also within walking distance of other locations.
