End of Season Gala to take place on Isle of Man 1st and 2nd November

As time continues to move on quickly, we are again about to reach the end of another operating season for the various railways and tramways on the Isle of Man but they won’t be going out with a whimper as there will be a number of events taking place over the last weekend of 1st and 2nd November 2025.

Both the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway and Manx Electric Railway will be taking part in this End of Season Gala (as will the Isle of Man Steam Railway) as the curtain is drawn on another successful operating season.

Planned events are:

Saturday 1st November

Douglas Bay Horse Tramway – Foal naming ceremony at 1400 at Derby Castle (voting remains open until Wednesday 29th October here)

Isle of Man Steam Railway – Selection of headboards

Sunday 2nd November

Douglas Bay Horse Tramway – Cavalcade starting at Derby Castle at 1400

Isle of Man Steam Railway – Selection of headboards

Manx Electric Railway – Good Vans in service to commemorate 50 years since the end of the mail service on the MER
