Each year the Great Orme Tramway holds a Community Weekend and this year it will be taking place on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th September. During the weekend residents of Conwy county will be able to get half price tickets to enjoy everything the tramway has to offer, including the spectacular views offered as it makes its way up the Great Orme.
This is the fifth year that the Community Weekend has been held and over both days local residents can get a return ticket for £5.25 (adults) and £3.75 (children aged 3-16). Residents will need to bring proof of their address in Conwy county to be able to take advantage of the offer.
Luke, the Tramway Manager, said: “The Community Weekend is fast becoming a tradition and it is one of our favourite days of the season. We love seeing local residents enjoying this unique historical attraction in our own back yard. Living in Conwy, it can be easy to take the views and attractions we have for granted. This year, the Tramway has celebrated our 122nd birthday, been listed as one of the UK’s top 10 heritage seaside attractions and featured in Michael Portillo’s Great Coastal Railway Journeys.”
The Tramway will be operating 1000-1800 on both days of the Community Weekend with the last tram from the Summit at 1740.
