“Picture in Time” continues with another photo from Nottingham Express Transit.
We are in Old Market Square for this photo as we take a look at a tram pulling away from the stop and starting the climb towards Market Street and then onto the stop at Royal Centre. At this time the journey would have started back at Station Street and as we can see it will be heading to Phoenix Park.
The tram in the frame is 207, one of the 15 Bombardier constructed Incentro trams built for the opening of the original network in 2002-3. At this time it was in the original fleet livery complete with some external advertising. That includes a full height ad for the Regent Street Clinic on the centre section whilst the other end of the tram has a promotion for Central Trains, who held the franchise for local train services. Having been built in Derby (or at least assembled there) it has now returned “home” for accident repairs having gone there in June 2025.
