Another chance to go “Out and About” and this time we are on the West Midlands Metro as we feature a photo of one of several trams to have carried the name Ozzy Osbourne.
With the sad passing of Ozzy Osbourne in July 2025, West Midlands Metro paid their respects by naming several of their trams after the rock legend. 37 has long been named after him (with the man himself undertaking the naming) but with that tram out of service three others received the name – 45, 49 and 57. This shot shows 49 arriving at The Hawthorns on its way to Wolverhampton Station. This is the first time that multiple trams have carried the same name at the same time in the 26 years of the network. Since this photo 45 and 57 have lost the name although this tram does still retain it. (Photograph by John Binch, 1st August 2025)
