We are in Blackpool again for the next edition of “Picture in Time”.
Over the years the Blackpool Tramway has been the home to many all over adverts. As has been said before some have been good designs whilst others have been at the other end of the good spectrum. Brush 633’s ad for Royal Mail (“The World’s First Post Office Tram”!) is probably one of the better designs with its Royal Mail colours of red and yellow adding some extra colour to the tramway. This advert was carried between July 1982 and October 1984.
In this photo we see the tram on Hopton Road outside Rigby Road Depot. Its trolley is turned so presumably it is set to head out onto the Prom although at this stage there is no crew in sight.
