This is another edition of “Picture in Time” as we feature a tram in action on the Isle of Man.
Having been in 2002 for the past few weeks we now move forward a couple of years to 2004 for an image of another motor which is no longer part of the operational fleet. That is 26, a Paddlebox Open built in 1898 originally as a trailer. It was motorised in 1903 and has remained like that ever since. It would be stored in 2009 and since then has been moved several times – starting off at Laxey Car Sheds it then went to Derby Castle and then returned back to Laxey in 2024!
This photo was taken on 30th July 2004 and shows 26 with an unidentified trailer just as it starts the shunt to the sidings.
