“Stop by Stop” continues in Edinburgh as we reach Murrayfield Stadium.
The tram departs from Haymarket and swings to the left as it makes its way through Haymarket Yards. There’s a third track here and a small platform, which is sometimes used at times of disruption as we soon start to run alongside the railway line and come across Haymarket Depot which is used by Scotrail for many of their DMUs as well as some of the remaining HSTs. Then the next stop comes into view, Murrayfield Stadium. As the name suggests this is the stop for the stadium which is the home of Scottish Rugby, as well as seeing concerts during the year, making it another well used stop at times.
Its another stop with platforms either side but its probably a grander affair than most with it being reached from street level by a lot of steps (with lifts also available). When you stand at the bottom of the steps at the end of a tiring day it probably feels that it’s a long way to go! As we are used to the stop also has shelters, passenger information (electronic displays and posters), ticket machines, validators and the like.

Here we see 265 just leaving from Murrayfield Stadium on its way to Newhaven. We also see the shelter and passenger information display in this view.

We also picture 270 (in its bright Camera Obscura full wrap) as it arrives at Murrayfield Stadium for the Airport. This platform is the more simpler affair with the only access to and from the stop being from the opposite side and passengers wanting this side having to cross the tracks.
