In Pictures: South Yorkshire Supertram operating in the snow

Following on from our collection of photos showing Manchester Metrolink in the snow we head east over the Pennines to see some more images of trams and the snow, this time from the South Yorkshire Supertram system. Photos were again captured on Sunday 5th January 2025 and were captured by Stuart Cooke.

The main part of the road surface is cleared of snow with various vehicles having already travelled along and now there is a lot of slush left in this view at Hillsborough. Supertram’s 112 heads away from us on the way to Meadowhall just as a First Sheffield bus on route 81 to Malin Bridge comes from the other direction.

With Hillsborough Interchange on the left hand side 106 approaches the Hillsborough tramstop with a Yellow route service to Middlewood.

120 is bringing people together as it pulls away from Hillsborough. Once again its on its way to Middlewood on the Yellow route. The family on the left are taking advantage of the snow with the child being pulled along on a home-made sleigh.

It wasn’t all plain sailing for Supertram as a flood on Holme Lane brings 115 to a halt as it tries to make its way to Malin Bridge with a Blue route service. 115 retains its JD Sports advert. (All Photographs by Stuart Cooke, 5th January 2025)
