Out and About: Edinburgh Trams – September 2024

“Out and About” again in Edinburgh.

We see trams in all sorts of weather and early September in Edinburgh saw misty and murky conditions which is when 256 was captured on Princes Street. The tram – one of those which still has CR Smith adverts – is on the way to Newhaven. (Photograph by Roy Calderwood, 6th September 2024)

269 in adverts for Edinburgh Street Food as its seen heading for the Airport as it arrives at The Shore. Its just crossing the Bernard Street/Baltic Street/Constitution Street junction in front of the one time Corn Exchange. The Robert Burns statue is behind the photographer. The crane marks the sight of another residential development and will hopefully give even more passengers for the trams at The Shore, which is already the busiest stop on the extension. We are on North Saint Andrew Street close to the tramstop at St Andrew Square for this photo as we see 269 with a service to the Airport. The tram is carrying adverts for Edinburgh Street Food which had only been stuck onto the tram the previous month. (Photograph by Roy Calderwood, 29th September 2024)
