Another edition of “Picture in Time” as there is more snow around Fleetwood in January 1979.
In the below photo we see Brush Car 633 just arriving at Ash Street when its working route 6 back to Starr Gate. As it arrives there will undoubtedly be a couple of passengers in the shelter who are grateful to see it as they can get out of the cold and enjoy the comfort of a 1930s railcoach. Across the road a Blackpool double-deck bus waits to emerge from Ash Street towards the end of its journey from the resort.
Today, 633 is more recognisable as the Illuminated Trawler having been converted at the start of this century and entering service in August 2001. Currently stored at Rigby Road Depot the tram – which has now been renumbered 737 – last ran during 2023.
